Memories of Nobody: In Karakura Town, there has been a sudden outbreak of unidentifiable spirits called "blanks" (vacant souls) while in the skies of Soul Society, the real world has been reflected. A mysterious female shinigami called Senna has appeared before Ichigo along with a man named Ganryu, leading a group called the "Dark Ones".

Diamond Dust Rebellion: An artifact known as the "King's Seal" is stolen during transport from Soul Society by an unidentified Soul Reaper. Hitsugaya Toshiro seems to recognize the Soul Reaper, and abandons his post to pursue him. Seireitei suspects the 10th Division's Captain of treason and orders his immediate capture, with the possibility of execution should he resist.

Fade to Black, I Call Your Name: A mysterious reiatsu explosion occurs in the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, causing it to be destroyed. At the exact same time, a major change overwhelms Kuchiki Rukia, which leaves her losing something important inside. Urahara Kisuke sends Kurosaki Ichigo to Soul Society to investigate the disturbance. Upon reaching Seireitei, Ichigo is set upon and attacked by shinigamis, once allies, who have no memory of him and Rukia. Now alone and on the run, Ichigo must find the missing Rukia and uncover the cause of the mysterious incident before it's too late.

OVA 1: Memories in the Rain was the first OVA. This special, shown in Japan at the Jump Festa 2004 Anime Tour is a pilot episode for the show. As a different, one episode version, of episodes 8-9, this special focuses more on Ichigo's feelings regarding his mother's death.

OVA 2: The Sealed Sword Frenzy is the second Bleach OVA. It was featured in the Jump Festa 2005 Anime Tour. It takes place soon after the Soul Society arc. Deep within some ruins, monks perform an act of sealing upon a shrine that explodes, killing all the monks as a mysterious figure emerges from the shrine. It's up to Ichigo, Rukia, and reinforcements from Soul Society to save the day.
